Tucson by Night
Arnold (Arnie) Feinstein
Arnold was born in 1939 to very affluent human parents in New York City. After achieving his Master’s at a prestigious north-eastern ivy league institution, and working under his father, he used his parent’s contacts and funds to start his own small tech business during the early dawn of personal computers. Arnold became a behind-the-scenes innovator and eventually rose to become the COO GaiTek INC, due to his versatile skillset in tech, computers, and managing logistics and interpersonal relations. At a late-night post-business party Arnold was schmoozed by a very well-spoken negotiator-type who he got the impression was attempting to court him for some opportunity. But, his new friend was extremely friendly and seemed to be kindred to the driven down-to-earth business type that Arnold had always fancied himself. So, Arnold continued to with the silver-tongued gentleman named Jon Harret. Once the party had died down Jon offered to show something to Arnold that would “change his world forever”. Arnold, being the natural innovator and loving the idea of world-changing ideas was more than willing. Arnold woke the following night, but never lived again.
Recently, Arnold had begun to become concerned about his reputation at GaiTek. The fact that he kept odd hours and did a significant amount of business remotely and through assistants (as vetted and trusted as they were) had started a chain of rumors among other board members. There was some pressure for him to retire and possible signs of a force-out. So, Arnold, with a heavy heart, stepped down and began to seek out his own investments which would allow him to operate however he needed to without answering to other board members. He looked at various possibilities and saw a bright new future preparing to show itself. But it’d require some heavy investments. He would definitely need state of the art components custom designed. Luckily, a new plant was rumored to be under construction by IGT in Tucson. If he could get in a large contract early enough…
